So! This week's stress is over, but next week isn't going to be that awesome either. Got a french and music exam, plus my parents are on vacation now and this house is just so freaking
big, which means there's going to be some more work to do. I haven't read my f-list yet, and I don't know if I'll get to do that today cause my sister is visiting and we've got a lot of catching up to do.
Actually, I just had a pretty long conversation with her about work cause, let's face it, I have no fucking clue what I'm going to study or work as. That's what I'm slightly jealous of when it comes to my siblings: they already knew what they were going to do for the rest of their lives when they were
fourteen and they went ahead and did it and they are fucking good at it. My brother's doing this whole IT thing and my sister's like the new world's-best-oboeist. Me? I dabble in some stuff but basically, there is nothing I'm exceptionally good at. I kinda feel like I'm walking around with a giant question mark over my head.
The only thing I do know is that I want to do something that involves English. Cause I seem to be kinda good at that as long as I pay attention and don't just write something for the sake of it, like in this blog. (Yes, I know that my grammar tends to suck when I post here). Plus, I seem to have become some sort of walking dictionary at school - or even outside of it. It's always like "Hey, Yoko, what's the English word for xyz?" or "Can you take a look at my homework?" or now a colleague of my mom actually asked me to translate a letter she's going to send to some international i-don't-know-what. Yehaw.
By the way, I'm reading Bill Bryson's "Mother Tongue" at the moment and I can only recommend it - it's about the English language, its origins and compared to other languages and generally a really fun read :)
Oh and I'm going to write an article about Towel Day for our student magazine cause it's like the worst magazine ever and another boring article isn't going to hurt anyone (some 6th graders want to write about a by-now-dead [!] dog, which lead to me and some other guy talking about zombie dogs and I actually suggested writing about zombie survival training and the head of the magazine was just like "yeah, well, why not." I mean,
come on!).
So - who's participating in Towel Day? I definitely am :D
Meh, I have this cool plot idea and I also want to catch up on some old fanfics (not to mention all the new ones!) but I don't have the bloody
time! Got to do some work for Geology, German and English now and then study for tomorrow's French exam and maybe make a salad for dinner and spend some time talking to my sister who's going to be leaving again tomorrow and uargh, I need a vacation.
In conclusion, I can't exactly guarantee that I'll be commenting on anything next week either but I'll try. See you guys *hugs*
Oh, fuck, and
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
adelate!!! Please let me know if that postcard arrived ;)ETA: So I just ate the most delicious salad, drank home-made ice tea cause my sister is awesome, haven't done ANY work yet (and did i mention that i've got an exam tomorrow?) but I have
caught up with my f-list!!! I also have 13 tabs open with stories I want to read. This is going to be a long night...
